 A Hollywood Florida mom and son were recently charged with the shooting death of the son’s teenager friend. The shooting incident occurred back on April 28^th when the son took his mother’s gun, which he thought was unloaded, and fired one shot which struck and killed his 13-year friend.

 The Mother was charged with culpable negligence Thursday as her 14-year-old son as charged with Manslaughter.

Not everyone is qualified to be a Florida Security Officer. A security officer is required to complete a basis 40-hour training class and a background check before being licensed as a guard by the State of Florida.

You must be at least 21-years of age with a high diploma and or GED. And, you must have the physical ability / condition to be able to perform the job prior to the license being issued.  This condition and requirement must to determine by a Licensed Certified Medical Doctor prior to submitting the application.

As a security officer one should expect to work long-hours, have prolonged period(s) of standing and walking and must have reliable means of transportation. As a Security Officer you must understand that you are the eyes and ears of law enforcement the job can be very dangerous at times.

Teen Texting while driving crash

According to news report in Clark County WA, a young man was texting while driving was involved in a head-on collision with another vehicle.

Data information obtain from the National Safety Council indicates that, approximately 200,000 crashes occur each year as a result of driver(s) texting while driving.

At some point in-time while driving during our teen years we all have ran through at least one red light, one stop-sign and exceeded the post speed limit however; when it comes to teen texting while driving, statistics show that they are at great risk.

According to data, the average U.S. mobile teen now sends or receives an average of 2,899 text-messages per month and apparently some of those texts are being sent and read from behind the wheel.

A recently released video out of the UK depicts a teenager girl texting while driving and as a result, a violence crash occurred with deadly consequences. It is a known fact that, testing while driving has become a deadly epidemic for teen driver(s) all across this Country.

At least 19 states and the District of Columbia have passed bans on texting while driving in recent years.

Distractions caused by mobile devices contribute to 6,000 deaths each year on America’s highways, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation.

In January Oprah Winfrey launched her “No Phone Zone” campaign asking viewers and members of the public to sign a pledge agreeing not to text while driving.  Also as part of that agreement, you would agree to stop texting and use only hands-free calling, or to not text at all while driving.

 To date more than 300,000 people have taken the pledge, to include high profile celebrities like Jerry Seinfeld, Tina Fey, NASCAR Driver Jimmy Johnson, Randy Jackson and Morgan Freeman.

The Florida SunPass is a new and innovated method for traveling freely on Florida’s highways and toll roads without having the stop in long-lines and sometimes unsafe toll booths.

In the State of Florida there are two types of SunPass which are offered:

• Personal SunPass
• Commercial SunPass

How to get a Florida SunPass

Both may be purchased at stores like, Walgreens, CVS, Publix(s) and the Services Plaza(s) along the Florida Turnpike.

A SunPass retails for approximately $25 and can be activated by calling 1-888-865-5352 or by logging on to the web site www.sunpass.com and opening a pre-paid account with an initial balance of $25.

The device is designed to work once the account is setup and the transponder is attached to your windshield.  After being attached to the windshield it will begin to transmit a radio signal to sensors mounted in the SunPass toll lanes.  For each time you drive through the toll lanes a fee will be deducted from the account.

Violation of Florida Statute 316.1001:

The Statute requires payment of prescribed tolls for the usage of toll facilities. Any person who violates or fail to comply with this statute may result in the assessment of a $100 or more civil penalty, three points assessed against your driver’s license, assessment of court costs, and suspension of your vehicle registration and/or suspension of your driver’s license.
